More than 20 years of my advertising career has been in media planning and buying, where I’ve been able to marry my love of advertising and marketing with my freakish interest in human behavior. I love getting my hands dirty with research: Who’s our audience? Where do they live and work? What do they like to do and where do we find’em?
My experience includes today’s ever-changing digital landscape, but my favorites are still rooted in the traditional disciplines of print and outdoor, along with an extensive depth of knowledge and experience with broadcast TV, radio, and cable.
Media experience includes some of the most recognizable brands, including Scott & White Healthcare, Coors Beer, Michaels Arts & Crafts, Mrs Baird’s Bread, and Time Warner Cable.
Copywriting and Long-Form Content
The secret to writing successful marketing copy is to find that perfect wording that speaks to your perfect target, using the perfect “voice,” and to sell them without sounding salesy. It’s a delicate balance and one I’ve mastered, helping turn site visitors into customers and customers into raving fans.

An advertising industry veteran of more than 25 years, I have worked on the agency side, the client side, and the ad sales side, giving me a unique 360 degrees of perspective. This allows me to be an insightful thought leader and strategist for my clients, and one who knows how you - as the client - want and deserve to be treated.

My Background
I’ve been a newspaper sales rep, a media analyst, a media planner/buyer, a marketing manager, and a writer.
Advertising has always been a part of my identity - from as far back as the mid-1970’s when I sat cross-legged on the orange shag carpet of my childhood living room, slathering the coffee table in Pledge wood cleaner while I workshopped the voice-over until it was just right - which only took about one entire can of Pledge.
In classic Kristan fashion, I’ve tackled every side of this industry giving me full context of its landscape and shaping me into a thoughtful guide for my clients and agency partners.
